Metso’s Jukka Seppälä appointed Vice Chairman of ICC Commission on Trade and Investment Policy’s expert group

Jukka Seppälä, Vice President, Stakeholder Relations and Trade Policy, Metso Corporation, is the first Finnish citizen to be appointed Vice Chairman of the Chairmanship of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Trade and Investment Policy. The three-year term started January 30, 2009.

Tuesday 03. February 2009 - Jukka Seppälä, Vice President, Stakeholder Relations and Trade Policy, Metso Corporation, is the first Finnish citizen to be appointed Vice Chairman of the Chairmanship of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Trade and Investment Policy. The three-year term started January 30, 2009.

Seppälä is also the Chairman of the Trade Policy Committee of the Confederation of Finnish Industries and a member of the board of several international trade associations.

The ICC Commission on Trade and Investment Policy comprises over 170 members from 35 countries, with members from Europe, the USA, India, China, Russia and other main market areas. The task of the Commission is to improve companies’ international operating requisites and to strengthen their competitiveness in the markets.

“As Vice Chairman and a member of the Chairmanship, it is my task to formulate the views presented by national committees into a shared view that takes into consideration also the perspectives of different organizations, like the WTO, the UN and NGOs, and also the policies of different governments. When needed, this also can include supporting the Chairman’s efforts in communicating views. As a company fundamentally dependent on international trade, it is important to Metso that trade and investments can continue without new tariffs or other barriers. My participation in the work also offers an opportunity to boost the recognition of Metso and our sector and to expand our contact network. I very much look forward to participating in the first meeting in February,” Jukka Seppälä notes
