PaperCo supports Prontaprint Lincolns green initiative
Wednesday 28. January 2009 - PaperCo is providing Prontaprint Lincoln with a closed loop recycling solution, supplying the businesss paper needs but also taking away its paper waste. The quickprinter is keen to minimise its environmental impact on the local and wider community.
Andy Alder, a print finisher at Prontaprint Lincoln, says: “The benefits for us are two fold. Firstly its about helping the environment as recycling is an important issue with us all. We feel by working in conjunction with PaperCo we are achieving a greener workplace and environment. Now when PaperCo delivers our paper, they will remove our waste on a daily basis.
“Secondly the savings to the company are greatly improved, saving Prontaprint Lincoln over a £1,000 per annum. Our only outlay has been the shared costs of the recycling bins.”
Its PaperCo supplier is Rothera & Brereton which plans to return the waste paper to a mill for recycling, reducing landfill and the resultant greenhouse gases and cutting down on vehicle movements which minimises the carbon emissions. Paper fibre can be used up to seven times reducing the need for making new pulp.
PaperCos relationship with Prontaprint franchise operators is very strong and this month it sponsored the companys annual conference. Mike Rust, Head of National Accounts & Corporate Services for PaperCo, presented a short overview of the company and explain how as the UKs leading merchant group with an emphasis on strong local service and a comprehensive stock portfolio it can effectively and imaginatively support franchise operations.
