With the HP Indigo press ws4500 Clever Etiketten capitalizes on the trend towards small print runs

Monday 12. January 2009 - Clever Etiketten, of The Hague, has now expanded its existing machine park of five flexo presses with an HP Indigo press ws4500.

Clever Etiketten is an established, all-round label printer that specialises in a wide range of niche markets and products. Michael Tromp, director, said, “There are only a few label and flexible producers that have such a wide range of possibilities under one roof. Specialising in one particular market is probably easier, but we don’t want to put all our eggs in one basket. Printing with the HP Indigo press ws4500 makes that possible without making concessions to quality.”

One of the specialities of Clever Etiketten is the production of in-mould labels, ticketing and RFID labels. The possibilities offered by this Hague-based specialist printer are often unique in the Netherlands. “We produce for the fruit and vegetable market and also for the pharmaceutical industry. The demands set for print quality and materials are high and very diverse. Our customers for instance are getting fewer and fewer guarantees from their customers, such as supermarkets. So their orders are for smaller numbers, to keep stocks low. They are also using the opportunity of the greater number of orders to make immediate changes to the design or the text. We can now take advantage of that by printing digitally with the HP Indigo press ws4500.”
