WMSG Expands its Already Significant Fleet of KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses

Friday 09. January 2009 - Marketing services provider boosts capabilities with three new devices

Focused on providing enterprise based, data driven targeted marketing, WMSG of Dallas has always relied on the KODAK NEXPRESS Platform to serve a variety of clients that includes top consumer brands in retail, automotive, financial services, and electronics. In its two Texas locations, WMSG now operates nine KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses and is the largest installation of NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Presses in the United States.

The three latest additions to WMSG’s digital printing arsenal are two new KODAK NEXPRESS S3000 Digital Production Color Presses and one existing KODAK NEXPRESS S2500 Digital Production Color Press that was converted to a NEXPRESS S3000 Digital Production Color Press. These devices join the six existing devices that have been upgraded over the years and are the cornerstone of WMSG’s business.

WMSG has relied heavily on Kodak since its inception. “The Kodak relationship has been instrumental in our success and growth. From the beginning, Kodak showed a willingness to meet the demands of our clients for quality and volume,” stated Jim Liszewski, President of WMSG. “Kodak worked closely with us to define many aspects of enterprise based targeted digital print that are now tenets of the industry.”

Liszewski points to the ability of the NEXPRESS Presses to maintain offset class quality throughout large production runs and consistency across multiple machines as a primary reason for his reliance on the equipment. “Our business has been built on extremely long runs of hundreds of thousands of pieces for extremely brand conscious clients. We have to be able to maintain extremely high quality across several presses to meet our output demands. The NEXPRESS Presses perform these tasks incredibly well.”

WMSG has significantly increased its page volume year over year, and has leveraged the scaleability of the NEXPRESS Platform to upgrade performance and adapt to changing needs. The NEXPRESS S3000 Digital Production Color Press features a modular design and is available with the optional KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solutions, which rely on press profiling and standard inks to match up to 82 percent of the Pantone spot color gamut with no custom mixing required. Other features of the NEXPRESS S3000 include protective coating, glossing, and the newly introduced Dimensional Clear Ink, which allows for tactile printing.

In the past 16 months, the company has upgraded all of its KODAK NEXPRESS S2100 Digital Production Color Presses to meet market demand. “The NEXPRESS S3000 Platform gives us a great current production machine along with a device that can be upgraded for years to come. We are looking forward to the upcoming NEXPRESS S3600 upgrade and Kodak’s commitment to further enhancements to the base platform.”
