Heiler Software launching Heiler Media Manager 5.1

Friday 09. January 2009 - New web-to-print functions and flexible PIM integration

The latest version of Heiler Software’s Media Manager is now available. Release 5.1 of the Heiler Media Manager offers the new “Catalog Planning” and “Projects” web modules. These make it easier for global enterprises to offer multilingual promotional materials online. An interface enables product data from the Heiler Product Manager to be used directly in web-to-print projects.

5.0, the previous version, was a new Web 2.0-based user interface. “The goal of making day-to-day work easier and increasing productivity using the Heiler Media Manager has been pursued systematically in version 5.1 as well,” says development manager Zoran Steko. The performance of the web application has also been enhanced.

The update boasts two new web modules. The “Projects” module offers central management of all files, such as product images and documents required for flyers, brochures and catalogs. “It features a check-in and check-out mechanism, which enables coordinated shared editing and use of files. External users such as freelancers or agencies can easily be incorporated into the process,” explains head of Product Management Heiko Rumpl.
A project overview alerts users to potential missed deadlines and overspending.

The “Catalog Planning” web module is oriented toward printed publications in which products are specifically allocated to single or double pages. “The automated workflow management helps with the creation of flyers, inserts, brochures and creative product catalogs. The Heiler Media Manager makes the approval process between product managers, purchasers and graphic design or agencies much simpler,” says Heiko Rumpl.

Product data from the Heiler Product Manager can be positioned on pages or printing sheets. Version 5.1 offers a newly developed interface to transfer product information from the PIM system. Product data can thus be used in web-to-print scenarios.
