Teijin to Participate in Offshore Arabia 2009

Thursday 08. January 2009 - Aiming to Expand Environmental Business in Middle East

The Teijin Group announced today that it will participate in Offshore Arabia 2009, which will be held at the Dubai International Convention Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from January 11 to January 13. Teijin will partake in the exhibition for the first time, aiming to support its expansion of environmental business in the Middle East.

Offshore Arabia 2009 is an international conference and exhibition that promotes sustainable energy and environmental protection. It is organized by the Regional Clean Sea Organization (RECSO), an environmental organization that works to protect the Gulf environment, and is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president & prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

Teijin, the only exhibitor from Japan, will showcase the following environmentally friendly products:
– Abaya (women’s Arabic garment) and thobe (men’s Arabic garment), both made of Teijin’s recycled polyester fiber produced from used polyester products
– SUPER EXTAR> (r)> , Teijin’s environmentally friendly, highly flame-resistant polyester material containing a non-halogen, flameproof agent
– ELK> (r)> , Teijin’s polyester elastic fibrous material used as an alternative to traditional foamed polyurethane

Teijin also will introduce various environmental initiatives, such as ECO CIRCLETM, a closed-loop system for recycling used polyester products, and water-processing technology.
