Animals are the theme for two 2009 calendars produced on Lumi stocks
Monday 05. January 2009 - LumiSilk from PaperCo was the stock selected for this years BBC Countryfile Calendar in aid of Children in Need which hopes to raise over £300,000 for the popular charity.
The Calendar was commissioned by The Art of Design Ltd on behalf of BBC Countryfile as part of its annual photography competition. Some 11,000 “Animals in Action” entries from the public were submitted to the BBC programme and the 12 finalists were featured as the main picture on each month of the calendar with 12 runners up getting a small insert.
Printed on a Speedmaster SM102-10P long perfector at Gemini Press in Shoreham. The printer is a stones throw form Southern Paper, part of PaperCo, which supplied the high quality LumiSilk paper. The calendar used 170gsm for the contents and 300gsm for the cover which was gloss laminated. PaperCo and Gemini Press both had their logos included on the back.
PaperCo has also taken an animal theme and used LumiArt and LumiSilk 170gsm gloss paper for its own 2009 calendar. It has used the stunning photos of Steve Hoskins to show how this stock can produce technically reliable and intrinsically beautiful printed results.
