imageQUEST appoints new president

Tuesday 09. December 2008 - imageQUEST, a Xerox company (NYSE: XRX), has named Paul Black as president. Black was previously senior vice president at Imaging Office Systems, also in Wichita, and was appointed by imageQUEST founder, Bob Hughey.

Black has been a business leader in the Wichita and Kansas City markets since founding The R3 Group, a document management company, in 1981. During that time he built a market leading sales and service team that developed, deployed and supported document imaging systems and business process automation services for customers large and small across the state.

“Paul has proven himself a skilled leader who truly understands how to put the customer first,” said Hughey. “He has the spirit and vision to take the helm at imageQUEST and uphold the level of service and support we’ve become known for throughout Kansas.”

Black will report directly to Michael Shea, CEO of Global Imaging Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox. Global acquired imageQUEST in 2007. Hughey will remain actively involved in imageQUEST in areas such as customer relations, service support, and as part of the management team.

“This is a unique opportunity,” said Black. “It’s the opportunity to lead a successful team of professionals, leverage the support of the unparalleled experience at Global Imaging and sell the most respected name in our industry – Xerox.”

In addition to Black’s appointment, Paul Morton, has rejoined imageQUEST as vice president of sales. Morton, who originally joined the company in 2004, has 18 years of industry experience and is part of an aggressive effort by imageQUEST to expand its sales force. That expansion has included, among others, the recruitment of four new account managers for its Overland Park and Salina, Kan., locations.

imageQUEST sells a wide range of office and light production printing and imaging equipment from Xerox, for which the imageQUEST’s staff of more than 25 service technicians have been factory trained and certified to support. After the acquisition by Global, imageQUEST retained its staff of certified Savin and Canon technicians and continues to maintain a full inventory of parts to deliver ongoing service and support for their customers.
