Jaymar signs for Varimatrix 105 after 12 month review
Monday 08. December 2008 - Jaymar Packaging is replacing one of its two die-cutters with a Varimatrix 105 after a 12 month review of options. "Many of the features included in the Varimatrix as standard are add on options on competitive products," says Craig Street, director.
The Crewe company produces a wide range of solid board and litho laminated cartons, primarily for the automotive, DIY and healthcare sectors. It needed a faster, more flexible die cutter and it says it has found the solution with the Varimatrix.
“We like the front edge removal, the ease with which you can change from sidelay to offlay and the preloading which will allow us to handle laminated work more continuously. This machine will more than double the speed of output which is a real asset for our longer run work, jobs of 20-30,000,” says Mr Street.
Jaymar, a privately run family company. has focused on investment in its converting facilities over the last two years and it says that this purchase reflects its confidence in the market. It believes that quality has to be a given for customers today but then contract decisions often come down to price and having the right production cost base is key.
Heidelberg will undertake training when the Varimatrix is delivered in xxx but the operators over both shifts are experienced so this is regarded as a straightforward transfer.
“The way Heidelberg has handled this project shows just how seriously they are committed to the packaging market. We have been very impressed by the enthusiasm, knowledge and advice we have received and we are also confident of the after sales back up which is an important aspect of any buying decision.”
