Yellow Pages Group Partners with My Virtual Paper to Extend Internet Reach of its Advertisers
Friday 21. November 2008 - Yellow Pages Group (YPG) announces a multi-year agreement with Virtual Paper Inc. to become a reseller of My Virtual Paper solutions to the thousands of YPG directory advertisers across Canada. YPG also intends to use the My Virtual Paper technology to convert some of its print directories into online, search-engine friendly directories.
Many small businesses still do not have websites which precludes them from presenting timely and detailed content in the natural search results on major search engines. My Virtual Paper solves this problem by enabling these businesses to automatically convert any print-ready marketing materials (flyers, brochures, catalogs, etc.) into search engine optimized (SEO) web pages that consumers find when they conduct searches for local businesses on their favourite search engines. YPG is making this new service available to its advertisers to provide them an additional, powerful way to reach potential buyers via the internet. For example, a boutique or restaurant will be able to seamlessly post a brochure or menu on the Internet, making it search engine friendly, providing enhanced ranking, increased traffic, and tangible return on investment.
“We were impressed by My Virtual Paper and how their solution is best able to meet the needs of our advertisers with the innovative and leading edge technology they offer,” said Jean-Pascal Lion, Vice-President of Marketing, Yellow Pages Group. “This agreement with My Virtual Paper is a logical complement to our overall SEO efforts to ensure our advertisers have the easy-to-use tools they need to increase their visibility, generate leads and grow their revenues.”
“We see significant strategic advantage in partnering with Yellow Pages Group, clearly a world leader in local search capabilities,” said Manoj Verma, Chief Executive Officer of My Virtual Paper. “YPG has a significant advertiser base with comprehensive national reach. We are happy to work with YPG as our resale partner, and we are confident our solutions have the potential to significantly boost their advertisers’ online web presence and exposure.”
Added Matt Booth, Senior Vice President and Program Director, Interactive Local Media, The Kelsey Group, “With Virtual Paper’s technology, YPG now has a unique offering for its advertisers-one that enables them to expand their reach to Internet consumers by turning their print-ready investment into a multi-platform marketing program.”
The new advertising solution will be offered to YPG customers in the first quarter of 2009.
