Xitron Announces RIP Upgrade for Heidelberg DI Press Users

Thursday 13. November 2008 - Upgrade existing Heidelberg Harlequin RIP with Navigator GPS Extend life of existing investment with state-of-the-art workflow

Xitron, the prepress industry’s leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions, today announced the availability of an upgrade for Heidelberg Harlequin RIPs used in conjunction with the Heidelberg DI press to the Navigator GPS workflow.

Navigator GPS 8 provides users with:

Ø Updated Harlequin core RIP technology

Ø Support for PDF 1.7

Ø Support for XPS 1.0

Ø Integrated workflow from client workstations

Ø Extensive job management functionality

Ø Enhanced job viewer for soft proofing at prepress operator workstation

Ø Optional PDF Tools for creating and preflighting PDFs including latest Enfocus PitStop library



Navigator RIP Manager is integrated with Navigator GPS 8 which incorporates Harlequin core RIP technology from Global Graphics Software. Navigator GPS 8 includes native support for PDF1.7 and XPS v1.0. In addition, a PDF soft-proofing plug-in option creates a raster PDF of jobs for final client approval.



RIP Manager includes extensive job management, soft proofing and RIP feedback at prepress operator workstations, along with the ability to enable/disable RIP from the workstations, and expanded search options making it easier to locate jobs within the workflow. In addition, the PDF Tools option now incorporates the latest Enfocus PitStop library within the preflighting module.
