Lake Image Systems Technology Receives Two Worth-a-Look! Awards at Graph Expo 2008

Thursday 13. November 2008 - At the recent Graph Expo 2008 in Chicago , Lake Image Systems received two Worth-a-Look! awards.  Commenting on the awards, Lake Image Systems vice-president Pat Hoskins said: "We are gratified that the editors and consultants evaluating product introductions at the show singled out two of our new products as important for show visitors to see.  Although some exhibitors complained of low traffic, interest in Lake Image Systems products exceeded our highest expectations."

The Lake Image Systems IntegraVision IMB, introduced at the show, received an award in the Quality Control category.  The IntegraVision IMB reads and verifies intelligent mail bar codes to ensure that each printed bar code complies with USPS dimensional specifications, thus enabling printers and mailers to maximize postal discounts.  The system also identifies any missing or duplicated pieces in a production run by parsing the unique identifier within the IMB code, and either checking the sequencing of the identifier or comparing it to a data file.  An integrity report is generated to prove the integrity of the production run and provide an audit trail of each item being mailed.

The new Lake Image Systems PrintScan Verification System also received a Worth-a-Look! award in the same category.  The PrintScan camera images the entire web width at speeds of 500 feet per minute or higher, checking every physical page for number and character legibility, bar code quality, streaks and voids, front-to-back matching, and print alignment, while providing piece-level tracking and reporting.  A camera image of each defect is archived, and triggers actions such insertion of a tab, designation with an inkjet marker, or stopping production.  PrintScan provides an audit trail of all pieces produced and a separate report of integrity errors identified during the run.
