ICS Transforms Monitor Proofing Landscape Again with the Latest Remote Director New developments include light booth communication for simultaneous, collaborative review of soft copy proofs

Integrated Color Solutions (ICS), with its Remote Director solution combining patented color technology with collaborative & press side proofing, unveils its newest version of the application here at Graph Expo. Remote Director, which offers real time, cross platform, color-accurate data exchange, brings over a dozen new features and functions in version 3.6.1, including the ability to communicate with JUST Normlicht light booths to facilitate the industry’s first simultaneous hard and soft collaborative proofing capability.
Remote Director has received the prestigious Must See ’em recognition for this year’s show. The announcement was made at yesterday’s Executive Outlook Conference.
Additional 3.6.1 developments include:
User experience
Comparison of images for content, annotation reports, signoff status report, additional image sorting capabilities, improved email notification processes, and Global access to Pantone library from all seats.
Permissions, standards and quality assurance
Lock images per user approval and/or group approval, an option to view and print sign off status for all participants and for all images in a proof, and UCM improvements (now a part of SWOP certification).
Performance
Performance improvement for proofs with many images (100+), performance improvement for Intel machines, Updated Pantone installer now with Goe Uncoated, hybrid GPU mode for ATI Radeon HD 2000- and 3000-series, enabling the offloading of the image servers data from the C Drive and a new spectral adaptation process.
Remote Director Demonstrations
Graph Expo attendees are seeing Remote Director in action at one of the five demonstration workstations (Mac & Windows platforms) on monitors from Apple, Eizo, Quato, NEC and Samsung at the ICS exhibit. Users will be able to see, first-hand, color-accurate remote proofing across both platforms on diverse monitor displays.
In addition to the new Remote Director version, ICS is featuring demonstrations of proofing scenarios which target all segments of the food chain for both commercial and packaging markets.
Booth attendees interested in bringing Remote Director into their specific workflow will also be able to see examples of how the Remote Director SDK (software development kit) has utilized to integrate into several third party applications.
