FUJIFILM Expanding the Gamut with New Proofing Solutions
Thursday 30. October 2008 - Fujifilm, CGS, Epson Come Together to Deliver Faster, More Flexible Proofing
Known for delivering consistent and reliable color, FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. will debut the industrys latest proofing and color solutions – all designed to deliver faster, more flexible, automated proofing – when Graph Expo 2008 kicks off on Oct. 26, 2008 at Chicagos McCormick Place Convention Center.
Teaming with Epson and CGS, a leading provider of color management solutions, Fujifilm will introduce a number of new products, including the Epson Stylus Pro 7900/9900 series of inkjet printers and CGS newly released ORIS Color Tuner Web 6.0, ORIS Press Matcher and ORIS Ink Saver.
Epson sets a new standard in the printing industry, which includes the 24″ Stylus Pro 7900 and 44″ Stylus Pro 9900. The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 is nearly twice as fast as previous models. The state-of-the-art inkjet engines also include green and orange inks in addition to nine other ink colors, creating the largest color gamut possible and enabling printers to extend their business into new printing segments – such as packaging – with better spot color reproduction.
Additionally, the new proofers feature an optional in-line spectrophotometer, resulting in tremendous time savings with the streamlining of calibration and an opportunity for making remote proofing more of a reality.
The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 will be running live in the Fujifilm booth (#4404) and will be powered by the newly released ORIS Color Tuner Web 6.0 from CGS. Now a web-based application, the ORIS Color Tuner Web 6.0 is still using the award-winning core Color Tuner iterative color management and control system, but now offers additional automation and a more functional, friendly design.
CGS ORIS Color Tuner Web 6.0 features improved handling of packaging as well as an improved halftone dot structure and screening capability. A new drag-and-drop feature allows files to be put into the proofing queue from a remote location and built-in soft proofing software provide for a hybrid proofing workflow and enhanced flexibility.
The unique ORIS Press Matcher software is able to color manage a job once, yet output on a variety of devices (Color Manage Once-Output Many), keeping you and your color “In Control” with Fujifilm – from printing presses to large/small digital presses to wide format devices. The
ORIS Ink Saver is aptly named, allowing users to reduce ink consumption by nearly 25 percent thanks to UCR/GCR (under color removal/gray component replacement) technology. Users will see many more benefits using this application including; better gray balance, quicker make-readies, a faster drying time and less spray powder.
Rounding out the proofing and color solutions for Fujifilm is the FinalProof GxT high-end contract proofer and ProofSatin 240 inkjet media being run on the Epson 9900 and the InterTech Award-winning C-fit color enhancement and conversion software. With its ability to color correct images in a matter of seconds, C-fit is a powerful tool for newspapers, yearbook printers, catalogers or commercial print facilities handling large amounts of images.
The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 will be running live, powered by CGS ORIS Color Tuner Web 6.0, throughout the show.
