Screen Truepress Jet520 Full-Color Variable Printing Solution at Graph Expo 2008
Wednesday 29. October 2008 - Color variable print allows companies to go beyond focusing on a particular customer type and "speak" directly to individuals.
Many print buyers are realizing greater response rates, repeat orders and profits with full-color personalization and targeted communications. At Graph Expo 2008, Screen (USA) will demonstrate how the Truepress Jet520 variable printing system can help print providers stand out in the variable and on-demand printing markets.
The Truepress Jet520 is perfect for the inkjet printing of books, catalogs, direct mail, statements and newsletters. It handles a wide range of stock, including inkjet paper, text paper, newsprint and card stock. With a maximum image resolution of 720 dpi x 720 dpi, the Truepress Jet520 delivers stunning full-color prints that look near-photographic in quality. The roll-fed printing system achieves speeds up to 420 feet per minute for throughput that creates an economic advantage in producing very short runs and the potential of medium-length to high-volume printing.
Key features of the Truepress Jet520:
Available in simplex or duplex printing configurations with single or dual printing engines
Printing speed up to 420 feet per minute the equivalent of 100,000 8 1/2 x 11-inch impressions per hour
Single-pass, multiple-head array for high-quality printing and registration
Piezo drop-on-demand, four-level grayscale printheads for high-speed printing while maintaining quality
Image resolution up to 720 dpi x 720 dpi, the highest resolution of any single-pass inkjet system
High-precision printing
Piezo drop-on-demand printheads enable extremely fine control of the ink drops ejected from the inkjet heads. Mounting the four-level grayscale heads in Screen’s single-pass, multiple-head array adds to the print precision.
Flexible printing workflow
Accepting PDF and PostScript data, the Truepress Jet520 cooperates with third-party color variable print workflows and environments. Varystudio, Screen’s variable data software, can output variable images and data on each page, as well as vary the layout in a single job.
Choice of configurations
A single printing unit of Truepress Jet520 has the flexibility to switch between printing full-web on one side of the paper (simplex) and half-web on both sides of the paper (single-engine duplex). Two printing units can be combined to print full-web on both sides of the paper (dual-engine duplex).
The Truepress Jet520 can be set up on the pressroom floor in a straight line, L-shape or U-shape, depending on how the printing units and paper roll unwinder/rewinder units are positioned. The flexible system setup fits almost any floor space and meets printers’ output needs and budgets.
Graph Expo 2008 attendees can see the Truepress Jet520 in booth #3808 from October 26-29 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
