Allpax Celebrates 22nd Anniversary with Best Sales Year Ever
Monday 27. October 2008 - Allpax Products, a division of Pro Mach and the market leader in retort technology and retort room automation, received a 22nd anniversary gift that would be the envy of any company - the best sales year ever.
“None of our competitors offers the breadth and depth of our retort technology for product sterilization and retort room automation,” said Greg Jacob, general manager. “This means customers have a wider set of options when they work with us. The bottom line in terms of sales is that Allpax is in contention for every retort project in North America.”
While a broad spectrum of products and services contributes to the company’s sales increases, Jacob said that there several other reasons for the company’s strong year-over-year growth.
Allpax invests significant resources into the research and development of agitation techniques and recently received a patent for this technology. Agitation reduces sterilization time and increases product throughput. Allpax is also the only North American licensee of the Shaka(TM) process, which promises to reduce sterilization time by more than 90 percent for many products when compared with static retorts.
Allpax also invests heavily in retort room automation. Automation is one of the areas companies can rely on to increase throughput, lower labor costs, and create a safer and more injury-free workspace.
In the past few years, Allpax has deepened its expertise in retort technology for packaging labs and ingredient manufacturers. These solutions help companies shorten time to market for new products. The company has also expanded its pool of consultants who work with customers on long-term strategic initiatives.
“Twenty-two years ago, Allpax started life as a system integrator that used subcontractors for fabrication,” Jacob said. “In 1995, we started manufacturing all our own equipment. That changed everything in terms of our competitive advantage. Allpax controls all design aspects and physical attributes of these complex systems. This gives our customers assured quality, on-time delivery, fast-track startups, and ongoing support from the people who actually build the system.”
Today, Allpax employs more than 70 men and women at its manufacturing facilities and corporate offices in Covington, Louisiana, located about 45 minutes from the New Orleans International Airport.
