Elpical debuts in North America and appoints Tools4Media as reseller
Wednesday 22. October 2008 - Elpical continues to strengthen its commitment to high quality
Elpical, a leading specialist in automated image enhancement and image management solutions, is pleased to announce its debut in North America and its expanding distribution network by signing a distribution/integrator agreement with Tools4Media. Tools4Media will now resell, integrate and fully support the Elpical products. In addition, Elpical will participate at GraphExpo, Chicago and presents the updated Claro Premedia Server, for full automatic processing of images that still allows a human quality check.
“We are very excited to attend our first North American tradeshow”, says John de Jong, managing director of Elpical. “We started off this summer in North America by adding Transcontinental to our customer base. Transcontinental, the largest printer in Canada and a leading consumer magazine publisher, is using Claro improve image quality and enhance their image workflows. Based on this success and in a joint effort with our new partner I feel confident we can build Elpicals presence in North America. In Tools4Media we found a partner with a product portfolio that is complementary to ours. Tools4Media has an extensive knowledge of the divers North American market, which makes them the perfect partner to professionally represent Elpical.”
Full automation with human eye quality check
In 2007 Elpical introduced Claro Single, specifically built to integrate into automation products like Enfocus Switch, its image analysis adding dynamic quality improvement capabilities to a workflow that otherwise could only be performed manually by an operator. Now, Elpical extends its partnership with Enfocus as the updated Claro Premedia Server allows integration with Enfocus Switch, providing advanced production automation and giving Switch users access to the Claro Inspector. Claro Inspector is a unique client application installed on the operators desktop. Claro Premedia automatically routes those images that require operator intervention to the workstation for side-by-side comparison of the original and the processed image in Photoshop. This allows the operator to choose which image to use and even tweak if needed, without having to search, fetch and replace images, thus avoiding human errors and increasing throughput. Claro Premedia with the Claro Inspector offers all the advantages of automatic image optimization without losing “the eye” of the operator.
Further quality enhancement
At GraphExpo, Elpical launches the new version of Claro Premedia, featuring further quality improvements. The already advanced image analysis and automatic correction now provides better color balance algorithms and improved black and white point analyses. Optionally, images can be automatically rotated based on EXIF information.
“We are constantly working to improve not only the image quality but also the way to achieve this quality,” says John de Jong, Managing Director of Elpical. “By integrating Claro Premedia Server, Switch users can benefit from a fully automated production workflow with all the processing power a server-based application offers, while at the same time allowing that personal touch for images that need special attention.”
“Streamlining image workflow processes, improving image quality and building in the human touch are the keys to providing an effective image workflow solution in todays environment. Many provide a partial solution, Claro Premedia provides the entire package, that is why Elpical fits perfectly within our automation philosophy,” says Frank Loversky, President of Tools4Media.
You will find Elpical at the Crossroads Booth 5463 at Graph Expo 2008, October 26-29, 2008.
