Canon bolsters black-and-white portfolio with new series of advanced MFPs
Wednesday 22. October 2008 - Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, has today launched the iR 3225-45 series, a new range of black-and-white multifunctional printers (MFPs) that enables users to scan and distribute documents in colour.
The iR 3225/N, iR 3235/N and iR 3245/N will provide a powerful imaging solution for workgroups within the SME and corporate environments.
Canons new MFPs bring colour scanning to the black-and-white workgroup segment
Through its new iR 3225-45 series, Canon will build on its market-leading position in black-and-white with improved performance and usability
The Canon iR 3225-45 series offers high-quality imaging, printing at 1200 dpi
The iR 3225-45 models are network-ready with optional network print controllers, offering value for money and real cost savings as workgroups are able to utilise a single, shared device. The MFPs offer high quality input and output features, including colour scanning, wireless LAN capabilities, two USB interfaces and printing at 1200 dpi, that will greatly improve usability and performance, further promoting efficiency in the office.
There is also a new operation panel that ensures the devices are now even easier to use. This includes a large TFT touch screen that provides advanced picture quality, which is sensitive to user input, ensuring a higher degree of usability and speed of operation.
Paul Rowntree, European Marketing Manager, Canon Europe, said: “The launch of the iR 3225-45 series is a significant move for Canon. The new models replace the successful iR 3045/N, iR 3035/N and iR 3025/N, which earned an enviable reputation for quality, secure and cost-effective printing.”
For businesses that need to scan documents on a regular basis, the optional i-send feature enables users to distribute scanned documents to multiple destinations such as email, FTP or i-Fax from the device. This allows workflow to be streamlined while saving on consumables like paper and ink.
In this day and age, security is a priority for businesses of all sizes. The iR 3225-45 series provides security at all critical levels; across the device, the document and the network. Hard disk erase ensures that no sensitive data is left on the device, while information that is stored on the hard disk is encrypted. PDF encryption and signature options enables users to share scanned documents safe in the knowledge that only those authorised are able to view the information. In addition, should a rogue network connection be detected, it is immediately terminated.
The launch of iR 3225/N, iR 3235/N and iR 3245/N devices will see Canon build on this heritage of leadership, with a core range of high-quality black-and-white multifunctional printers.
Rowntree continues, “Now more than ever, businesses are demanding high-quality, cost-effective black-and-white printing. By offering colour scanning and improved performance, usability and security, we are confident the iR 3225-45 series will become the black-and-white device of choice for the workgroup environment.”
The iR 3225-45 series will be available across Europe during September 2008.
