Tuesday 21. October 2008 - - 17 sites across Germany - 1,000 users and 32 titles all able to share content - DTI technology turns the vision into reality

Digital Technology International the world’s leading developer of audience-centric publishing solutions, has today announced that Verlagsgesellschaft Madsack GmbH & Co. KG (Madsack), one of the ten largest newspaper publishers in Germany, has selected DTI Editorial as a group-wide solution for all of its seventeen sites across Germany.

Madsack (www.madsack.de) has two main publishing centres, the largest is in Hannover, and a second, jointly owned with Axel Springer Verlag, is in Leipzig.

In total there will be more than 1,000 users across 32 titles, all able to share content, enabling increased efficiency as well as an ability to better gather more news stories across the group.

“We finally selected DTI after thoroughly investigating all major vendors and their solutions,” said Rainer Golembek, Media Concepts, Madsack. “Before we made this key decision, we first completed DTI projects at two of our newspapers, Korbach and Heimatzeitungen, and their rapid success confirmed that we should award DTI the contract for this large, group-wide, system.

“Madsack and DTI share the same vision – and DTI technology enables our vision to become a reality.”

The DTI Editorial suite to be implemented at Madsack provides a complete editorial solution that includes modules for reporting, page planning, pagination, and a library archive and retrieval.

Incorporating DTI Liquid Media, a unique enabling technology that allows efficient and profitable multi-channel publishing, the DTI solution will allow Madsack to combine content and to deliver it on-demand, where it’s needed, in the form it’s wanted.

Through a close technical partnership with Adobe Systems, Inc., DTI Editorial provides a tight integration of industry-standard products including Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy. This enables a highly productive collaborative multi-media publishing environment allowing several users to work simultaneously on the same content, providing faster production, and better management of multiple story versions.

“Madsack and DTI have worked together for several years,” says Ernst-J. Komberg, Managing Director, Digital Technology International GmbH. “All major projects are partnerships. This project, which is expected to be rolled-out during 2009 and 2010, will be a show-piece for newspaper publishing efficiency. It will be successful not only because of our leading technology, but also due the skills and enthusiasm of all the people involved, on both sides.”
