Presstek 52DI Press Helps Loretoprint Rebrand and Shift up a Gear
Friday 17. October 2008 - Company reinvents itself by adding high quality digital offset press Provides versatile and environmentally responsible solution
Following the purchase of a Presstek 52DI digital offset press, Timbroloreto Copyline decided to rebrand its company and change its name to Loretoprint. The new DI press will play a pivotal role at the Loretoprint production facilities and will complement their extensive range of digital print solutions. The company prides itself on serving every printing need from a broad range of customers requiring a diverse output such as brochures, binders, postcards, envelopes, posters and technical CAD printing. Located in modern premises in the centre of Milan, Loretoprint now positions itself as being innovative and flexible, offering the broadest offering of print services to the widest variety of customers.
The company has evolved from a simple stamp and copy shop in the 1960s, hence the name Timbroloreto, through the provision of color printing services in the eighties, to using the most up-to-date digital technology today. Vito Ferrone is a veteran in both the company history and the industry. He began his career in the company in 1989 and moved up to the position of managing director of Loretoprint. He has guided the companys transition from offering computerized photographic services to on-demand digital printing services. Since 2006, when Loretoprint installed their first Presstek 34DI press, they have become strong advocates for the benefits of printing with a Presstek DI digital offset press.
The company can accept any kind of file format and supply competitively-priced on-demand printing, thanks to a broad array of digital printing devices in various formats and now also the wider-format printing jobs with the installation of the Presstek 52DI.
Promoting Sustainability with Presstek 52DI Digital Offset Press
The Presstek 52DI, which was installed in June 2008, enables Loretoprint to offer larger printing capacity to its customers, able to handle formats of 510 x 360 mm and print speed of 10,000 sheets per hour. The press is typically used for print runs starting at 2000, or when special colors or substrates are required.
“With the Presstek 52DI press we are now able to serve our customers in a more efficient way and more importantly we can print jobs in a wider format, as well as handle unusual applications,” comments Vito Ferrone. “The Presstek 52DI is extremely versatile and is able to print on unusual stock. For example, the Presstek press allows us to offer letter-size envelope printing, a growing market segment well-serviced by the 52DIs adjustable stream feeder. I believe that print providers should be versatile, constantly looking for where the growing market opportunities are. This can be for instance quality binder printing, unusual applications using special colors
,” Mr. Ferrone continues, “In adding all these options together we are a true one-stop provider.”
Mr. Ferrone decided to focus on eco-sustainable print solutions with the creation of the Ecoprint trademark, which represents a multi-faceted approach to environmental responsibility. The trademark commits the company to using energy from industries ensuring research of sustainable sources, recycled packaging, FSC papers and environmental friendly digital printing systems. The Presstek DI press helps Loretoprint meet these criteria.
The Presstek DI press offers chemistry-free platemaking and the waterless DI press design eliminates fountain solutions, the major contributor to VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions. The press achieves its full gamut with vastly reduced media waste and maintains excellent consistency of color, giving the owner better cost efficiency as well as reducing paper consumption.
“This capability is something we will promote heavily to our customers,” concludes Mr. Ferrone. “Anything we can do to make our printing process more environmentally sustainable is good for our business, good for our customers and gives us the edge in this highly competitive marketplace.”
