Truepress Jet650UV Inkjet Printing System Delivers High-Resolution, Full-Color Imaging for Industrial Applications
Wednesday 15. October 2008 - Screen's inkjet printing products are best known for the high quality and reliability they provide to users in today's competitive market. The Truepress Jet650UV, Screen's new flatbed inkjet printing system, is no exception. It provides all the familiar advantages of UV inkjet printing while opening up lucrative markets for industrial printing.
The Truepress Jet650UV excels in production environments in which the highest print quality and high productivity are crucial. For industrial products, the Truepress Jet650UV produces sharp images, precise gradients, translucent print for backlighting and fine text on membrane switches, touch panels, dashboard graphics, dial faces, cellular phones, remote controls and meters.
High-precision, high-quality imaging
The industry’s best image quality is derived from the highest drop resolution, grayscale printing and acclaimed Screen RIP screening techniques. Screen’s automatic registration systems using CCD cameras and ink temperature control systems ensure the most precise and repeatable production machine in its class.
Eight-level grayscale inkjet heads that vary the drop size from 6 picoliters to 42 picoliters produce subtle gradations and vivid color, delivered precisely within one-tenth of a millimeter accuracy. At 2,400 dpi x 2,400 dpi, the Truepress Jet650UV makes it possible to deliver photographic quality.
Highest productivity
The Truepress Jet650UV is capable of the highest productivity for industrial use. The printing system can achieve production speeds up to 201 square inches per minute, thanks to the combination of a linear motion drive with the unique multiple printhead array (up to 32 printheads can be installed) and the high-powered UV light source.
Variety of media
The Truepress Jet650UV has a bed size of 25.5 x 23.6 inches and a maximum output area of 25.3 x 23.3 inches. It prints directly onto media up to 1.96 inches thick. The UV-curable inkjet inks adhere to virtually any rigid or flexible substrate, including coated and uncoated paper, plastics, textiles, wood, glass and ceramic tiles.
Full-color UV printing
The Truepress Jet650UV comes standard with cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink units. White and clear ink units can be optionally added to enhance full-color reproduction. The Screen-developed UV inks provide exceptional coverage and detail when printing on both sides of transparent media, overprinting on preprinted shells or using thick media.
Functions that support better quality
Built-in maintenance functions eliminate many of the issues associated with inkjet printers in the past. The misfire check function and non-contact wiping function help ensure consistent print quality. Another standard function prevents heat from the UV light source from causing undesirable distortion on resin-coated paper.
A dedicated CCD camera reads register marks and automatically adjusts the alignment of the printing material. Microscopic angle adjustment of the printing material maintains superior precision even when printing on both sides of transparent media or applying inkjet printing over silkscreen printing.
Range of products
The Truepress Jet650UV can print on film and flexible packaging materials, as well as cardboard and paper, for small-lot production of limited-run packages, test-market items and novelties. Employee cards, security passes and membership cards are among the applications that profit from the Truepress Jet650UV’s vivid image reproduction. In addition, the Truepress Jet650UV easily accommodates the design, materials and processing demands of sign/display printing.
Screen (USA) will provide complete details about the Truepress Jet650UV in booth #663 at SGIA ’08, October 15-18 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
