Sun Chemical’s Rycoline Division Rebrands Silicone and Web Conditioners

Tuesday 14. October 2008 - Rycoline’s complete line of silicones and web conditioners are now available under the brand names of MicroSil and MicroSurf for heatset web publication and newspaper printers.

“The new MicroSil brand now has the added benefits of higher quality traditional silicones at a more economical cost,” said Mark DeSandre, Vice President Strategic Accounts, Rycoline Division, Sun Chemical. “We saw this as an opportunity to launch a brand for silicone that was complimentary to our MicroSurf web conditioner offerings.”

MicroSil offers printers a high quality silicone solution with optimum performance at very low dosage amounts. MicroSil is available in three concentration levels—MicroSil Platinum, MicroSil Gold and MicroSil Silver—with the platinum level being the most concentrated. A plus version of each concentration level provides an anti-static benefit. MicroSil prevents offsetting, leaves less streaking on coating stocks and minimal marking on matte stocks, and prevents the cracking of coated stock after the web passes through the chill rollers.

MicroSurf 360 and 580 web conditioners perform like traditional silicones with the added benefits of being more economical and less likely to streak. Each web conditioner offers low dosage capabilities for all types of heatset applications as well as excellent protection against marking or scuffing on all substrates. Microsurf 360 has a higher concentration than the Microsurf 580 web conditioner.
