American Media, Inc. Names Bobbie Halfin Vice President – Director of Interactive Operations

Tuesday 14. October 2008 - American Media, Inc. (AMI) Chairman and CEO David J. Pecker today announced that Bobbie Halfin has been named Vice President - Director of Interactive Operations.

In her new role, Ms. Halfin will be responsible for all sales, marketing, audience development, and day-to-day operations for the company’s health & fitness web sites, specifically Shape.com, Mensfitness.com, Naturalhealthmag.com and fitnessonline.com. She will begin her duties immediately and report to AMI President & COO John Miller.

“It is quite a coup for AMI to have someone with Bobbie’s track record join our company,” said Mr. Pecker. “Over the past ten years she has been behind the development of some of the most successful health web sites and networks that have been done to date. She is recognized industry wide as an expert in both building traffic and monetizing it.”

John Miller, AMI President and COO added, “Having also been on the print side, Bobbie understands how important fully integrated sales & marketing programs are for advertisers and her ability to create ones with demonstrable ROI is a tremendous asset to our company.”

Ms. Halfin most recently served as Senior VP Strategy & Product Development for the Revolution Health Group and its web network. Prior to that, she was a VP at Waterfront Media where she played a key role in the launch of Everydayhealth.com, which now commands traffic in excess of 6 million unique visitors monthly. Ms. Halfin previously served as President of WinStar, a revenue development company for web publishers, and as the Managing Director of the Meredith Corporations interactive group. On the print side, she has held high level positions at Parade, Sassy, Rolling Stone, Playboy and Glamour.

“I am excited by the opportunity to lead the new media team at AMI, and to work with premier health & fitness brands like Shape and Men’s Fitness,” said Ms. Halfin. “AMI has already provided many of the tools for success, including a personalized diet & fitness program unlike any other on the market, so there is no doubt in my mind we can grow these sites into the definitive destinations for men and women seeking health, diet and fitness content. At the same time, we’ll be giving advertisers an audience that is responsive even in the most trying economic times.”

Ms. Halfin will be based in American Media’s New York Offices.
