XAAR FORGES GLOBAL INK PARTNERSHIP WITH CERAMIC TILE INK SPECIALIST CHIMIGRAF
Thursday 09. October 2008 - - Chimigraf is one of the first ceramic ink manufacturers to partner with Xaar - Significant partnership between Chimigraf and Xaar will boost digital ceramic tile printing applications worldwide
Xaar announces today that Chimigraf, a leading manufacturer of digital inks for the ceramics industry, has become a Xaar Approved Ink Partner. Xaar manufactures industrial-strength inkjet printheads which are featured in many new digital ceramic tile printers coming to market. Its strategy to partner with specialist ink manufacturers results in a wide range of inks being approved for use with Xaar-enabled digital printers to deliver superior and consistent results.
Chimigraf specialises in the manufacture of water, solvent and UV-based inks for Flexography, Rotogravure, Screen and Digital printing. The company conducts an intensive R&D programme focused on developing market leading inks and coatings for the graphic arts and industrial markets, including ceramics, decoratives and textiles. “We are continuously fine tuning our products to new presses and substrates. Our ink partnership with Xaar is strategically very important for us,” explains Daniel Miravete, Inkjet Product Manager, Chimigraf. “The digital ink market is an increasingly important part of our business and it’s important for us to work closely with leading inkjet suppliers, such as Xaar, to deliver a high-quality and reliable solution.”
Dr Jill Woods, Ink Product Manager at Xaar says: “We are delighted to be working with Chimigraf. Digital printing in the ceramics industry is at an early stage but is forecast to grow rapidly with many traditional flexo and screen applications being replaced with flexible and cost-effective digital alternatives. Our latest Xaar 1001 printhead features our Hybrid Side Shooter (HSS?) printhead technology which incorporates Xaar’s patented TF Technology?, which sends ink past each nozzle orifice, keeping the channels primed and fully operational. This means it can jet complex fluids, such as ceramics inks, consistently and reliably. By working closely with ceramics ink specialists such as Chimigraf we can ensure that end users have a choice of inks that they can be confident will produce good results when used with Xaar printheads.”
There are an increasing number of digital ceramic tile printers coming to market, with many demonstrated at Tecnargilla (www.tecnargilla.it) the specialist industry event. The Chimigraf Ceramic Ink for digital inkjet printers was shown in partnership with Fritta SL (Hall D5 Stand 080).
