Sunny Delight Beverages Co. Licenses Crystal Light Ready-To-Drink Bottled Beverages in the U.S. From Kraft Foods Inc.

Thursday 09. October 2008 - The Sunny Delight Beverages Co. (SDBC) today signed a licensing agreement with Kraft Foods Inc. (NYSE:KFT) to produce and market Kraft's Crystal Light ready-to-drink bottled beverages through most distribution channels in the U.S.

Kraft Foodservice will continue to sell Crystal Light ready-to-drink beverages to their normal outlets, for example, college cafeterias, offices and vending machines. Kraft also will continue to manufacture and sell the powdered versions of Crystal Light. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Beverages are our sole focus and area of expertise. This agreement is consistent with our commitment to offer consumers more wholesome beverages and will further help us build scale in single serve bottle sales,” said Billy Cyr, SDBC CEO. “Crystal Light has long been associated with a healthy lifestyle and is a great tasting way to gain the benefits of water with only five added calories per serving.”

The Crystal Light ready-to-drink bottled beverages are being manufactured at a SDBC plant in Littleton, MA.
