Citrix Systems Conferred the 2008 Asia Pacific Frost & Sullivan Product Line Strategy Award in the Application Delivery Controller Market
Friday 26. September 2008 - Award Recognizes Citrix for its Superior Product Innovation in the Application Delivery Controller Market Across Asia Pacific and for Building a Scalable Robust Platform that Provides End-to-end Application Delivery with High Level of Flexibility
Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced that it has been awarded the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Product Line Strategy Award for the Application Delivery Controller Market in Asia Pacific. The award recognizes Citrix NetScaler family of solutions for its strategic product line initiatives as well as unwavering commitment to innovation and product differentiation.
According to Frost & Sullivan, the Asia Pacific market for Application Delivery Controllers will experience a robust 17.3 percent compound annual growth rate from 2007 to 2014 as a result of increasing adoption of Web 2.0 technologies and business applications. The growth will be spurred largely by growing application complexity and rapidly rising user expectations of a fast, secure and consistent user experience which an end-to-end application delivery infrastructure can fulfill by optimizing and simplifying the delivery of applications.
Citrix NetScaler, an integral component of the Citrix Delivery Center product family, is the delivery infrastructure of choice for most of the worlds largest websites, touching an estimated 75 percent of all Internet users each day. It enables the drive towards dynamic datacenters by optimizing all web applications through accelerated performance, improved security, and substantially reduced datacenter server infrastructure costs.
Citrix NetScaler customers in Asia Pacific include HDFC Bank and NewsWire 18 in India, PeeVee Corporation in Japan, Betfair in Australia, CBS Internet News in Korea, N2N Connect in Malaysia and Sina.com in China have benefited from industry-leading features that accelerate application performance up to five times while ensuring compliance.
As Arun Chandrasekaran, Industry Manager at Frost & Sullivan explained, “Citrix has differentiated itself from competitors through its integrated approach to application delivery that encompasses a multitude of features such as application virtualization, availability, acceleration, security and monitoring. The companys strong product differentiation and focus on high-end customers has enabled it to grow faster than the market growth rate in Asia Pacific in 2007.”
“As the application delivery controller (ADC) market transitions beyond basic server load balancing, the demand for advanced features is expected to accelerate. Given this and its unwavering commitment to innovation and product differentiation, we believe Citrix is well-positioned to emerge as one of the frontrunners in the ADC segment,” Arun Chandrasekaran further added.
The Citrix end-to-end application delivery platform, which delivers Windows applications, web applications and desktops, provides a low total cost of ownership (TCO) for customers with scalable and secure application performance. It provides a truly flexible application networking framework for customers by allowing any user to connect to any application via any network. It has also managed to achieve a clear decoupling between its software editions and hardware platforms thereby offering customers wide flexibility, choice and value. Such platform and connectivity independency makes Citrix a preferred vendor in any heterogeneous IT environment.
According to Nabeel Youakim, Vice President of Marketing, Pacific, at Citrix Systems, “The award is a great testament to our technology leadership in the application delivery controller market across the Asia Pacific region. Citrix NetScaler forms a key component of the “Green IT” initiatives of organizations by eliminating the need for excess servers and also by optimizing the resources in existing servers, resulting in considerable savings from both a capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) perspective.” He added, “With intensifying broadband penetration resulting from infrastructure expansion projects, our customers in the region are increasing their web application usage and demanding a quality of service which delivers an enhanced, high-definition, feature rich experience to the end-users. It is drivers like these that keep Citrix motivated to innovate our solutions and stay ahead of the curve.”
