Friday 26. September 2008 - Enhanced Copy, Print, Fax & Scan Solutions Allow Every Entrepreneur To Compete in Today's Fast-Paced Business Environment
Making it easier for small offices, workgroups and home offices to leverage big office technology, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in document imaging and office solutions, today introduced two new color laser multifunction printers. Canon’s new imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c expand the Company’s extensive laser multifunction printer portfolio and provide small and home offices with multiple options to choose the right solution for their business.
The new imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c models, which will be available through resellers, were designed for any size office workflow with the availability to choose the optimal speed and value-added features all in a single device. Moving from multiple single function devices to a single streamlined multifunction laser platform device is inherently more beneficial in limited office-space environments. The new imageCLASS products allow for a better use of space while also accommodating all the tasks previously performed by four or more devices.
“Regardless of size, small offices and workgroups require the same basic office functionally of larger operations. Canon continues to bring big office innovation and technology into our line of small and home office MFPs, while helping to replace the cost and complexities of managing multiple office devices,” said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “Our new imageCLASS offerings incorporate many advanced technologies found in other Canon high-end commercial copiers, and delivers it affordably.”
The Canon imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c perform black-and-white and color printing and copying at the same speed of up to 22 pages-per-minute (ppm)i. Canon’s Pure Black Technology ensures the richest blacks by utilizing only the black toner in comparison with the traditional methods of combining toners when scanning documents.
The Canon imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c models also support the mobile professional by supporting the integration of USB memory media into business workflows. This allows users to directly store documents scanned with the imageCLASS device in black-and-white or full color to a user’s USB memory media device, or print documents out from the USB memory media device without connecting to the network. Through the Direct Print feature, users can print out documents from a range of USB memory drives, including USB Memory Stick, Compact Flash and SD cards, which can plug directly into the imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c control panel.
The imageCLASS MF9170c is bundled with standard features for out-of-the-box business productivity, including PCL5e/6 support, and advanced sending capabilities, while the imageCLASS MF9150c is highly configurable, with a number of sending and security options.
For the added benefit of fax capability, the imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c incorporate a 33.6 Kbps Super G3 faxii, with a strong list of fax features, including 200 speed dial locations, up to 1,000-page memory capacity and one hour of memory back-up.
Paper handling is achieved with each model incorporating a duplex ADF that can handle up to 50-page originals to allow two-sided copying, printing, scanning and faxing. Each model is also equipped with a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette, plus a 100-sheet multipurpose tray that accepts a variety of media. An optional 500-sheet cassette pedestal is available. Each device can copy up to 8.5 inches x 14 inches (legal) from both the ADF and platen glass.
For added flexibility and user convenience, the imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c help to increase productivity with a built-in Ethernet port for networking, and a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interfaceiii, providing optimal speed when printing, scanningiv and faxing directly from a PC.
Each model incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner, drum and development unit in one easy-to-replace cartridge, resulting in excellent image quality retention and eliminating the complication and warehousing of separate toner and drum consumables.
A further measure of Canon’s commitment to small and home office customers is the inclusion of a one year limited warranty with one year of on-site service.
The Canon imageCLASS MF9150c and MF9170c meet the ENERGY STAR guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE). Canon is a long-time ENERGY STAR partner, and is a strong advocate of consumer education of energy-efficient products through its product labeling and environmental programs. ENERGY STAR is the joint effort of the EPA and DOE designed to identify and promote energy efficient products to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The imageCLASS MF9150c and imageCLASS MF9170c, which will be available through authorized Canon resellers, come with estimated prices of $2,495 and $2,995 respectively. All of these devices are scheduled to be available in November 2008.
