MUTOH EUROPE STRENGTHENS SIGN CUTTER PORTFOLIO WITH NEW SC-PRO 1400 DRAG KNIFE CUTTER
Wednesday 17. September 2008 - Belgium-based wide-format inkjet printer and vinyl cutting plotter manufacturer Mutoh Europe nv announces availability of a new sign cutting plotter, called SC-PRO 1400. The new cutter is an addition to the existing SC-PRO 1650 (1650 mm) sign cutter.
Based on Mutohs legendary SC-series cutting plotters, SC-PRO 1400 offers a wide array of innovative features enhancing productivity and ease of use. This 63″ (1600 mm) wide vinyl cutter is targeted at the sign, screen and digital print markets. Application possibilities are signage, vehicle decoration, window graphics, full colour sticker production, etc
The new SC-PRO 1400 friction-feed cutting plotter can handle roll and sheet media up to a width of 1600 mm (62.99″). Maximum cutting width is 1385 mm (54.50″). The machine is equipped with 4 repositionable pressure rollers, allowing the use of different media widths. The two middle pressure rollers have reduced pressure and can be disabled to eliminate roller marks on sensitive or pre-printed media. Off-cuts down to 200 mm (7.87″) can be accommodated. Long-length tracking is guaranteed thanks to matching of grid roller sets per individual machine. Cutting force is adjustable from 20 – 450 g to guarantee optimum cutting results on a wide range of materials. Cutting speed is adjustable up to 1000 mm/s at a maximum acceleration of 2.75 G.
Equipped with a solid drag knife cutting head enabling cutting/plotting and automatic sheet-off, the SC-PRO can cut a broad range of sign making materials ranging from self-adhesive PVC to sandblast, up to a maximum thickness of 1 mm. The automatic sheet-off feature will allow slicing of media up to at width of 1400 mm (55.10″) at the end of a job. This feature is particularly useful when making multiple copies of signs. The head also integrates a laser tool for accurately measuring automatic contour cutting data.
The SC-PRO 1400 cutter is equipped with a USB and an RS-232 serial interface. It is also the worlds first cutting plotter standard equipped with an Ethernet network connection. The machine has a multi-language display. The machines keyboard is detachable for maximum user convenience.
Mutohs SC-PRO 1400 comes as a total solution, including a robust stand with caster wheels, a roll support system, a media basket and an EasySIGN Power Pack Mutoh Edition cutting/contour cutting software.
Built for maximum productivity, the SC-PRO 1400 is ready to produce volume cutting of repetitive jobs, corporate signs and in-house sign making for shop chains or large grocery stores.
Automatic Contour Cutting Workflow
Apart from being a regular vinyl cutting plotter, SC-PRO also integrates Mutohs EPOSTM technology for effortless contour cutting. As such, the SC-PRO 1400 can team up with any wide-format printer up to 1600 mm (62.99″) capable of printing on self-adhesive PVC for full colour sticker production.
The teamwork of the in-the-box Mutoh Cut Server, EasySIGN Power Pack Mutoh edition software and the cutting heads integrated laser tool will allow single and multi-frame laser alignment and job identity recognition for effortless contour cutting of pre-printed stickers and signs.
