Henkel to present an extensive range of innovative hotmelts for pressure-sensitive labels at Labelexpo Americas
Wednesday 10. September 2008 - Henkel Corporation will demonstrate a range of original adhesive solutions at Labelexpo Americas 2008.
Premium hotmelts for wine and beverage, with a no-label look – For extremely demanding applications in bottle labeling, Henkel offers Technomelt EM 799 and DURO-TAK 34-659B, which handle difficult tasks such as dispensing onto moist and cool surfaces. They offer good adhesive performance on tight radii (Mandrel performance) and show extremely good resistance in hypercondensation and ice-water tests. The hotmelts diecut easily, even at high speeds, and can be used for barrel labels that must withstand seawater exposure. Both of these hotmelts are also suitable for clear applications, such as those requiring no-label look.
Innovative hotmelt for direct food contact – Technomelt 86-7127 has been developed especially for the labeling of greasy and moist foods. Thanks to its outstanding adhesive characteristics, it is particularly suitable for labeling on extremely challenging surfaces, such as meat or cheese. This hotmelt is highly transparent and also ideal for applications on fruit.
Squeezable hotmelt for cosmetics labels – Technomelt 707 is formulated for squeezable labels on PE or PP containers, shampoos, shower gels, etc, which must remain wrinkle-free even after repeated stressing. Technomelt is highly transparent and is characterized by high heat stability, excellent dimensional stability and outstanding die-cutability. It is also suitable for challenging industrial applications, such as labeling of hot-filled oil canisters or chemical drums (with seawater resistance to BS 5609).
Removable and repositionable hotmelt – Technomelt HM 6410 is a low peel pressure-sensitive hotmelt adhesive for removable applications on a large variety of substrates. It also provides an excellent solution for specialty applications on polar containers (glass bottles, PTC containers), where repositionable features are required.
Special effects with UV coatings, multi-layer labels – MiracureTM UV coatings give premium labels special design effects and protection. ‘Mboss’ effects can replace mechanical embossing, even in applications where conventional embossing is impossible. Film effect coatings represent a special alternative to conventional hot and cold stamping. UV overprint coatings decorate and extend the service life of any printed label.
Miracure L9091 V is special UV-based technology that can be processed in classic flexo printing. It is distinguished by curing without the need of costly nitrogen inertization equipment for processing.
