Katie Hunt Named Corporate Sustainability Director for Rohm and Haas Company
Monday 01. September 2008 - Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH) has named Dr. Catherine T. (Katie) Hunt as its Corporate Sustainability Director. In addition to her current role as Leader, Technology Partnerships, Hunt will oversee the companys approach to incorporating sustainability as an integral component of its operations.

Brondeau, President, Chief Operating Officer, Rohm and Haas Company. “Rohm and Haas intends to lead by example and help bring sustainable development to the forefront of the chemical industry by demonstrating that this practice can be successfully integrated into profitable operations while helping to make the world a better place.”
Hunt is Immediate Past President of the American Chemical Society (ACS). She joined Rohm and Haas in 1984 as a Senior Scientist in Analytical Research after completing a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellowship at Yale University. She also served as Philadelphia Plant Laboratory Manager and Director of Worldwide Analytical and Computational Competency Network and Technology Development prior to being named to her current role, Leader, Technology Partnerships, in 2002. Hunt helped launch Rohm and Haass Technology Partnerships program, which promotes collaboration between the company, academia, government agencies, and private foundations. In 2005, she was elected President of the ACS for the 2007 calendar year, and conducted her highly successful term with a three-part platform promoting Education, Collaboration and Innovation. As the elective theme for her Presidential Symposia at ACS National Meetings, Hunt selected “The Sustainability of Energy, Food and Water.”
