GLUNZ & JENSEN SUMMER SALES STRONG
Thursday 28. August 2008 - Despite the weakening economy, sales of punch bend equipment and press registration lockups are strong with Glunz & Jensen. Web reductions and international sales are driving the current sales trends.
Here are the following installations and orders booked by newspapers for Glunz & Jensen Punch Bend and Press Lock Equipment:
Two Precision Edge punch bender lines were ordered by O Dia Newspaper of Rio de Janeniro. The Precision Edge is a low cost, edge registered punch bender that will compliment O Dias Agfa DL 3850 CTP engines.
The Sacramento Bee (CA) ordered for a second ProVision Alliance punch bend system to compliment the ProVision Alliance installed this past spring. The additional bender will be set for their 46 inch web width reduction.
The Imperial Valley Press of El Centro (CA) purchased a Precision Edge punch bender system and CML-SA press registration locks for their Goss Urbanite off-set press.
Konica Minolta Graphic Imaging, Inc. (MI) committed to a two-CTP-into-one ProVision Alliance punch bend system line for the Trumbull Printing (CT).
Guyana Publications of Georgetown, Guyana ordered a Semi-Automatic Bender (SAB) and a DP manual plate punch for
The Nampa Pacific Press (ID) purchased an Edge Punch Bender. The EPB-38 is a free- standing machine that uses a three sided edge register contact system to produce punched and bent plates.
Editora Hoy Santo of Domingo, Dominica Republic ordered 170 CML-SA locks, a Semi- Automatic plate bender and a DPPC power plate punch.
The Youngstown Vindicator (OH) purchased a ProVision Alliance bender and a Precision Edge Bender along with a new conveyor, two stackers and a UTM. Training and installation is scheduled for early fall.
The Oklahoma Publishing Co. (OK) ordered retrofit kits for their ProVision Alliance and their Vision Bender Model One to reduce their web width to 46 inches. Glunz & Jensen will service and covert their automatic plate production lines in the fall.
The Ottawa Citizen (ONT), a CanWest MediaWorks Newspaper, is adding a second ProVision Alliance Vision punch bender to its production line. This bender will be set for 46 inch web and go into production at the first of the year when The Citizen converts down to a 46 inch web.
The Allentown Morning Call (PA) added another ProVision Alliance bender and UTM-H along with a retrofit kit for their Alliance Vision AC bender to accommodate their web reduction.
The Nashville Tennessean (TN) orders a web reduction kits for their ProVision Alliance punch bender and their Vision Bender Model 1 punch bender. The Tennessean is reducing their web to 44 inches (1117.6mm)
Tech Energy (TX) has partnered with Glunz & Jensen to provide 100 No Tool / Narrow Gap locks for The Herald Sun, Durham (NC) for their Goss Headliner Offset Press. Tech Energy will install the locks as part of a conversion down to 44 inch.
The San Angelo Standard-Times (TX) purchased a Precision Edge bend with two-position stacker, new conveyor and two UTMs. Installation of the new line will begin in late May 2008.
USA Today (VA) continues to purchase web conversion kits for the Barco CTP units. Glunz & Jensen makes the web reduction plate platens for the CTP in the new plate sizes. New installations include Novato Marin Independent Journal (CA) and Salisbury Post (NC).
The Fond Du Lac Reporter (WI) ordered a Precision Edge Punch Bender. Installation is set for this fall.
