Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel Selects Open Text to Manage Documents Firm-Wide Open Text To Help Law Firm Control Document-based Knowledge Assets in a Secure, Integrated, and Intuitive Environment
Wednesday 27. August 2008 - Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in enterprise content management (ECM), announced today that law firm Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel has selected Open Texts document management solution to manage all documents across the firm. Founded in 1886, Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel has built a rich heritage of highly successful client service by anchoring its practice in time-honored principles of legal scholarship, professionalism, innovation and skillful, vigorous advocacy. The firm needed to update its existing Lotus Notes-based document management solution and evaluated multiple leading vendors.
“We first selected another solution, but the proof of concept did not go well,” said Rhonda C. Glenn, Information Technology Director at Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel. “We went back to Open Text for a proof of concept and what was delivered to us was exactly what we asked for, in the requested timeframe.. Open Text has risen above the crowd in terms of being able to deliver what they promise. Open Texts depth of expertise combined with its breadth of products will allow us to address our email and document management needs.”

With Open Texts document management capabilities, Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel will have access to all documents across the firm from within a central, secure and scalable document repository that will enable users to work with electronic documents around the clock. The firm will be able to take a matter-centric approach to creating, flexibly profiling, storing, managing, accessing and sharing documents. Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel will also be using Open Texts solution as a platform to eventually integrate with its records management systems and all other systems moving forward.
“This is really going to help the work process within the organization by providing a consistent, intuitive interface that makes it easier for people to do their jobs,” continued Glenn. “Our current system is so complex and so difficult to understand that people have trouble saving and profiling a document. Effectively searching for documents is going to be significantly improved.”
“Law firms around the world must be able to minimize the time it takes to leverage enterprise information assets in order to streamline business-critical processes,” said Mohit Thawani, Director of Legal Solutions for Open Text. “With Open Text, Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel will be able to more effectively reduce the time and complexity associated with storing, organizing, and locating information; gaining the ability to generate competitive advantage from the organizations cumulative knowledge, while at the same time ensuring the security and integrity of that information.”
