The new Canon imageCLASS model boasts print and copy speeds of up to 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized output, and delivers first print and copy pages in approximately nine seconds. This model comes equipped with a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette. The device is also capable of copying up to 8.5 inches x 14 inches (legal) from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or letter-sized using the platen glass or ADF. For optimal speed when printing and scanning, the new imageCLASS model provides a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interfacei.
“The new imageCLASS D480 multifunction copier helps entrepreneurs and small businesses leverage Canon technology and innovation to have a positive impact on their business success,” said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “The entire line of imageCLASS models gives workgroups, small businesses and home office users the critical access to the office document functions necessary for running their businesses at a high level of efficiency.”
The imageCLASS D480 multifunction copier provides duplex capabilities in all modes, including in output mode for printing, copying and receiving faxes, and in input mode for copying, scanning and faxing. With this duplexing capability, customers will be able to significantly reduce paper consumption by duplex printing documents from a PC, or on incoming faxes. Through the device’s 50-sheet ADF, the unit will also copy singled-side documents and output double-sided pages for a more streamlined office workflow.
The new imageCLASS model also captures scans in 24-bit color at an interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dots-per-inch (dpi) through its ADF or platen glass. The new device uses an up to 33.6 Kbps Super G3 faxii for the rapid transmission of facsimile communications.
This model incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner, drum and development unit in one easy-to-replace cartridge, resulting in excellent image quality retention and eliminating the complication and warehousing of separate toner and drum consumables.
The imageCLASS D480 meets the ENERGY STAR guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE). Canon is a long-time ENERGY STAR partner, and is a strong advocate of educating consumers regarding energy-efficient products through its product labeling and environmental programs.
The imageCLASS D480 multifunction copier is scheduled to be available starting September 22nd through retailers at manufacturer’s suggested price of $399.
