New Solution Brings Customized Network Control and User-Based Workflow Management to Organizations of All Sizes

Monday 04. August 2008 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced the release of PageScope Enterprise Suite, a solution that brings enterprise-level accounting, user management and authentication to businesses of all sizes.

This new suite of solutions allows organizations to authenticate and track users on any bizhub system within a corporation, and provide a custom user interface on all networked multifunctional products (MFPs – print, copy, fax, and scan all in one system) within the Konica Minolta next-generation series.

With its modular design and simple operation, PageScope Enterprise Suite easily adapts to a variety of networked environments, including integration with Active Directory. Unlike most authentication and accounting systems, this solution does not require additional hardware or software installation at individual machines. The solution consists of three modules – Account Manager, Authentication Manager and MyPanel Manager – all of which work together to enable tracking of all MFP activity on a per-page basis for each user without the need for custom setup or programming. Developed solely by Konica Minolta, PageScope Enterprise Suite improves productivity and compliments standardized accounting practices across an organization.

“With PageScope Enterprise Suite added to Konica Minolta’s award-winning line of bizhub MFPs, our customers will derive even greater value out of their investment in our products by upgrading the systems’ capabilities to include complete reporting and accounting practices,” said Kevin P. Kern, Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. “This advancement demonstrates the ease and flexibility in upgrading Konica Minolta systems without the difficulty of adding unnecessary enhancements to the existing infrastructure.”

PageScope Account Manager enables per-page user-tracking to determine who did what, at which machine, and identify when the activity occurred through an entire network of Konica Minolta MFP’s to help manage document output, control costs, and allocate expenses accordingly. The Account Manager module permits tracking of total print activity for industry-standard MIB compliant non-Konica Minolta networked printers as well as track print activity for locally attached (USB and parallel) printers and features the ability to protect information by storing data centrally – no counts or user data are stored at the MFP.

Organizations can permit user-authentication directly through the PageScope Authentication Manager, or select from a wide range of server-based authentication methods including network user name and password, optional HID Proximity card reader or the advanced Konica Minolta Biometric Authentication option. The authentication device also begins tracking immediately based on log-in for seamless accounting and user management, and includes automatic Email address programming for communication with each user.

PageScope MyPanel Manager is a unique Konica Minolta advantage that lets every end user create a personal control panel to appear at a networked Konica Minolta MFP. PageScope MyPanel Manager displays can be customized to suit individual requirements by changing screens or colors, language, creating personal icons for scan functions, and creating up to 12 shortcut keys to MFP functions. The user Profile appears automatically at log-in for each user regardless of what device is being used, and from there, permits access to all their stored information including address books and protects such data by removing it from the MFP immediately at log out.

PageScope Enterprise Suite is available now through Konica Minolta’s North American direct sales, authorized dealer and value added reseller channels.
