Digital Room, Inc. and U-Printing Network Expands Offset Capabilities with Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S
Thursday 17. July 2008 - Digital Room, Inc. and U-Printing Network, a pioneer in the digital printing industry, was one of the first print providers to identify the tremendous opportunities afforded by online printing.
The recent addition of a four-color Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S sheetfed press with aqueous coater enables the printer to offer its customers quicker turnarounds on high-quality offset products at the lowest possible prices.
“We purchased the Mitsubishi press to complement our existing presses and innovative workflow to allow U-Printing to process offset projects faster, without sacrificing print quality,” said Ronnie Mesriani, founder and CEO.
UPrinting.com is a trusted online printer with operations established in 1985. Operating two shifts a day, five days a week, U-Printing caters to small and medium-size businesses nationwide. The printer utilizes digital presses and 28-inch and 40-inch sheetfed presses to deliver brochures, business cards, postcards, catalogs, stationery and other diverse business products, along with large-format posters and banners for indoor and outdoor display purposes.
“With our fully automated workflow and strong prepress department, we handle projects from the smallest one-person companies to global companies like Google, Yahoo and Walt Disney,” Mesriani noted.
Support services, such as design, lists and direct mailing, are intended to help the 50-employee firm’s clients grow. U-Printing is always looking for innovative ways to fulfill its customers’ every business printing need.
“Our primary strength is in our custom automated printing processes and programs like our U-Design process, our famous Free Project Review and our U-Page custom sizing program,” Mesriani said.
U-Page gives customers versatile customization options while maintaining its fast turnaround and affordable gang prices. In addition, U-Printing’s full range of online proofing options includes the ability to immediately preview uploads, see file setup warnings and request free press-ready electronic proofs.
Targeted equipment and software acquisitions, whether in the prepress department, pressroom or bindery, address the question of how U-Printing can continually provide the best quality printing for customers.
“The Diamond 3000S prints 28 x 40-inch sheets and is capable of very efficient and accurate results,” Mesriani pointed out. “We were impressed with the speed of the press, both in printing and plate setting, as well as the print quality.”
U-Printing outfitted the Diamond 3000S with an X-Rite color management system. Other technology incorporated into the press to achieve the desired print quality on the first pull range from press presets and wash-up systems to plate changers and console-controlled functions. These features keep waste down and enable faster makereadies for more profitable runs.
“This is our first Mitsubishi press, and we have been very satisfied with the performance,” Mesriani said. “This additional press will dramatically improve production turnaround times and expand U-Printing’s offset product offering.”
