Inkjet & Digital Printing
Breakthrough Products You Will Be Hearing a Lot More About in Coming Months
Tuesday 08. July 2008 - Drupa served as the launch pad for Screen products that customers can begin purchasing right away. It also provided a venue for premiering technology that will become commercially available this time next year. Chief among these are a remarkable sheetfed inkjet press and a workflow solution for todays world of personalization.
The prototype Truepress Jet SX made its world debut at Drupa. The Truepress Jet SX is the first inkjet-based digital press to work with ordinary cut-sheet paper rather than reels or specially formulated inkjet stock.
This full-color system is an ideal complement to commercial printing equipment. It has a maximum sheet width of 20.9″ x 29.9″ and a speed of 1,600 sheets per hour on coated and uncoated paper.
Print shops can add value to materials by employing the Truepress Jet SX to overprint personalized text and images onto preprinted litho products. With Screens newly developed printing head assembly, printed images are created in a single pass of the paper under a fixed inkjet head. The “single-pass” head delivers significantly faster print speeds than inkjet heads that print by scanning back and forth in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the papers transport. It also is capable of output quality as high as that produced by ordinary offset presses.
