Flint Group announces Price Increases for Printing Inks

Monday 23. June 2008 - Flint Group announces sales price increases for printing inks effective 1st of July, as a conse-quence of strongly increasing raw material costs.

The price increases will be up to 20% depending on product type. The escalating prices for crude oil related materials and the critical supply situation for pre-cursors of pigments and intermediates from China coupled with shortages due to the environ-mental restrictions imposed by the Chinese government around the Olympic Games in Beijing are driving up costs dramatically, for ink manufacturers. “Flint Group is fully committed to supply its customer base reliably with quality products in this difficult phase of short supply of raw materials,” says Dr. Dirk Aulbert, President Flint Group Europe. “However with the current surge in raw material cost, the implementation of these price increases is a necessity. “He adds in saying: “The current dynamic in the raw material markets is putting a strain on the entire value chain and is forcing difficult messages to cus-tomers about resetting the value proposition for our products.”
