KBA Complete celebrates Drupa debut
Monday 16. June 2008 - Consultation services a focus of keen interest
KBA Complete, a KBA subsidiary set up just a few weeks ago, is delighted with its first appearance at Drupa. The demonstrations given – up to seven a day – are in great demand, as are the customised demos for individual users. At the fair the company has booked a string of full-service contracts, most of them from German firms, and has also sold several MIS packages to international customers.
Roland Kastner, managing director of the new KBA subsidiary, says: “Drupa is compelling proof that the decision to set up KBA Complete as a service provider was made at the right moment. The response from trade professionals has strengthened our resolve to expand our activities at the earliest possible opportunity by taking on additional highly competent staff.”
Unlike many other providers, KBA Complete can network all JDF-enabled systems, not just those offered by allied vendors. And it defines networking not merely in terms of JDF links to the presses but as a holistic system encompassing financial accounting, ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems, logistics and distribution. A key post-Drupa project will be to step up the development of RFID-controlled logistics systems for print enterprises. To this end KBA Complete has entered an alliance with Siemens, and is planning to install a pilot RFID-controlled logistics system before the end of the year.
