New Direct-to-Garment Digital Equipment Evaluations Available

Tuesday 10. June 2008 - SGIA member-only benefit now allows easy comparison of latest models

Garment decorators have a new resource to help them make the best purchasing decisions for direct-to-garment technologies: SGIA’s new Digital Equipment Evaluations for several direct-to-garment inkjet devices.
“It’s important for potential buyers to really examine the specifications, output speeds, routine maintenance activities and quality standards for this technology, especially if they’re just getting into digital garment printing,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services.
The newest evaluations, online at SGIA.org, Keyword: GarmentEval, feature detailed reports for:
• Brother GT541 digital garment printer from Brother International Corp.
• Flexi-Jet Standard and Extended textile inkjet printers from BelQuette Inc.

The systems were evaluated on-site by SGIA experts, including Shell. The team published the details in unbiased reports that offer easy-to-understand comparisons of the equipment across manufacturers.
SGIA also has scheduled visits to evaluate the T-Jet Blazer Pro and T-Jet Blazer Express systems by US Screen Print & Inkjet Technology as well as the Kornit 932 NDS digital garment printer from Kornit Digital Ltd.
“The result is garment decorators have a readily available tool that will help them get a clear comparison of machinery they’re interested in without having to search from manufacturer to manufacturer,” Shell said. “These reports will help them make confident direct-to-garment digital purchase decisions that work best for their business.”
In addition to the reports for the direct-to-garment digital technologies, evaluations also are available for wide-format output devices from Océ, Roland DGA Corp., Mimaki USA, EFI VUTEk and MacDermid ColorSpan Inc. (now part of Hewlett Packard Co.).
