SENOLITH TWIN EFFECT COATINGS Brilliant results with TWIN EFFECT COATINGS from WEILBURGER Graphics

Monday 09. June 2008 - Special coating effects continue to be fashionable and finished printed products are booming. For many printing works, however, this is a market for which they are unprepared in technical terms. Many coating effects require double coating systems or have to be produced off-line at high cost or by means of several machine runs.

But with WEILBURGER Graphics SENOLITH TWIN EFFECT COATINGS, some fascinating matt-gloss and structure-gloss effects can also be achieved using printing systems with only one coating unit. SENOLITH TWIN EFFECT COATINGS are created as perfectly matched coating systems, consisting of an offset printing ink, which is processed in the printing unit and can thus produce the very finest structures, and a dispersion coating in two different qualities. The matt or structure effects are defined via the offset printing ink components. A final overcoat of the whole surface with gloss lacquer brings out the different coating effects and protects the print object.

In achieving the matt-gloss effect, the new offset printing ink SENOLITH OB MATT COATING TWIN 355418 features a reduction in damping compared to other offset printing inks used up to now, which has a positive effect on machine runability. This coating also has very little colouring of its own and equally little tendency to yellow.

SENOLITH OB EFFECT MATT COATING TWIN 355440 was developed to achieve a structure-gloss effect as a successor to SENOLITH OB EFFECT MATT COATING TWIN 355420 which was so successful before it. With the new product, the structure effect can be perceived without any delay at all.

The new dispersion coating SENOLITH WB HIGH GLOSS COATING TWIN 350640 produces a higher gloss on glossy areas while ensuring that the matt and structure effects remain the same on areas treated with SENOLITH OB MATT COATING TWIN 355418 and SENOLITH OB EFFECT MATT COATING TWIN 355440 respectively. This gives rise to a greater difference between glossy and matt or structured print areas, which in turn leads to greater contrast and thus to results which are of higher quality in optical terms. The system described is eminently suitable for single-sided coating.

SENOLITH WB GLOSS COATING TWIN 350610 rounds off the portfolio. With this dispersion coating too, it has been possible to improve the degree of gloss. Unlike SENOLITH WB HIGH GLOSS COATING TWIN 350640, double-sided coating is possible with this product.
