Positive Response to ppi Medias New drupa Products
Monday 09. June 2008 - Strong demand for new online ad solution and enhanced output management with APL support
ppi Media, the Hamburg-based subsidiary of manroland, got off to a promising start at this years drupa. Its new publishing solutions, in particular the online ad space reservation system AdInvent, plus the enhanced printnet workflow with a range of new functions, prove to be real crowd pullers. The workflow specialist is a co-exhibitor at manrolands stand and is presenting its range of products under the motto “radical changes in newspaper publishing”.
Commenting on the immense interest in ppis products, Norbert Ohl, managing director of ppi Media, said: “We are extremely pleased to have hit the nerve of the times. Print, online, mobile – multi-channel publishing has long since become reality and represents a dramatic change in the newspaper industry. There is therefore a strong demand for cross-media production systems amongst publishers. It was evident from the feedback on our editorial workflow system felix during the IfraEXPO that we are on the right track. In Düsseldorf we are now focusing on online advertising.”
ppi Media has developed an innovative solution for integrating the planning, reservation, production and publication of online ads in an existing ppi workflow. The first step has been successfully accomplished with AdInvent, its new reservation module for online ads.
Apart from its publishing solutions, there is also a strong demand for its new products and upgrades. A large number of newspaper printers no longer produce just their daily newspapers, but also a wide range of varied print products. In order to cater for these increasingly complex products and the latest technical innovations such as manrolands AutomaticPlateLoading or the new heatset-coldset technology, ppi Media has enhanced its output management system printnet OM by a large number of features. This includes the ability to seamlessly integrate external print jobs in the workflow. With the JobEntry module, print products and common pages and color separations can be planned on a graphic dummy with a mouse click. Equipped with a preview function and a technical feasibility check, the new JobEntry system ensures maximum transparency and security in commercial newspaper production.
