Performance edge of Sandvik Dieflex Platinum shows reduced life cycle costs
Monday 09. June 2008 - In operational use, Sandvik Dieflex Platinum, the new range of special hard edge coated rules, is achieving reduced life cycle costs, time and time again.
All trials and customer orders are supporting the claim that, although initially more expensive, the longer life of Sandvik Dieflex Platinum proves the life cycle cost argument. It makes the new rules a real alternative for high volume, quality applications, such as food packaging and the coated boards of top of the range, high end packaging.
As the coating is very thin, there is no rounding of the edges. Sandvik Dieflex Platinum cuts tougher materials at a lower cutting pressure with improved release properties. This reduces dusting problems and at the same time gives excellent and even cutting results on long runs.
“Time and time again we are seeing Sandvik Dieflex Platinum outperforming competitive products with run cycle of 2, 3 and even 4 times greater, without the associated problems even when cutting recycled material,” explained Parag Satpute of Sandvik.
With its hard edge, smooth coating, good bendability and excellent performance, Sandvik Dieflex Platinum is even outperforming the hardest of rules currently available on the worldwide market.
Critical is the products edge hardness, which at 4000 – 5000 HV is five times that of a normal diecutting rule and almost double that of titanium nitride coated cutting rules, yet its bendability is unaffected. It cuts tougher materials at a lower cutting pressure with improved release properties, reducing dusting and offering excellent results on long runs.
Yet, even combined with the edge and body coating hardness, Sandvik Dieflex Platinum retains its extreme bendability.
More information on the product range is available in a series of datasheets, mailers and brochures, all of which are on the Sandvik stand throughout the exhibition.
Examples of the comprehensive range of Sandvik diecutting products are also on display along with new, dedicated literature.
