SC Certified Mohawk Options Explores the Rare Wollemi
Tuesday 03. June 2008 - Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. [Drupa booth 71C51] explores a rare scientific discovery in its new multilingual promotion, Lost/Found. The newly released promotion, printed on FSC certified Mohawk Options 100% PCW, chronicles the discovery of the Wollemi Pine, a tree thought to have been extinct for more than two million years.

Written in four languages (English, German, Spanish and Chinese) Lost/Found is designed to share the Wollemi story with Mohawk Options worldwide market, and deliver the pertinent message it carries realizing the power of nature and the importance of helping to conserve it. Mohawk is an active proponent for sustainable practices and encourages vendors, suppliers, and customers to do the same.
Lost/Found was designed by Pentagram, NY, a multi-disciplinary design partnership with offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Austin, and Berlin. The promotion details the discovery of the Wollemi Pine in 1994 by a park ranger in a remote section of Australia. Photography throughout the book includes fossils of the trees foliage, which, until its discovery, had been the only evidence of the trees existence, and the dense but endangered Wollemi forest, which research revealed is a living artifact from the Jurassic era. A proven survivor through time, mass extinctions, ice ages, droughts, fire, and the evolution and spread of mankind, several nonprofit organizations are now collaborating to protect the remaining population through the sale of seedlings worldwide.
Lost/Found, was printed at Williamson Printing, Dallas, Texas, with a combination of four-color process and match colors. Lost/Found was printed on two shades of FSC certified Mohawk Options
100% PCW. One hundred percent of the electricity used to manufacture this (and all Mohawk papers) is offset with Renewable Energy Certificates from non-polluting windpower projects.
