Salmat BusinessForce Helps ING Australia Develop Successful Integrated Marketing Program with KODAK VERSAMARK VX5000 Printing System

Tuesday 03. June 2008 - Headquartered in Australia, Salmat BusinessForce is one of the leading outsourced business service providers in the Asia Pacific region, delivering inbound and outbound communication management, results processing, and information management services.

With its KODAK VERSAMARK VX5000 Printing System and a clear understanding of the power of targeted communications, Salmat BusinessForce delivers market changing services and solutions to its customers.
Salmat BusinessForce is focused on providing customized solutions for applications in print, mail services, invoice and statement management, insurance claim processing, and accounts payable right through to more complex business process solutions and marketing programs. This is one of four divisions of the Salmat Worldwide network, all of which pride themselves on enabling one to one communications. Since its founding in 1979, Salmat has expanded to 51 offices worldwide.
“Our goal is to help customers make the most of available technology to enhance the performance of their businesses,” said Pat O’Sullivan, General Manager, Marketing, Salmat BusinessForce. “With the powerful software and hardware solutions available today, we have been able to leverage our integrated marketing expertise to deliver the results customers need to stay ahead of the competition.”
One of their recent success stories is a project completed for ING Australia Limited. It illustrates the power of an integrated marketing campaign using digital full color communication that increases response rates and exceeds customer expectations. Due to changes in Australian superannuation law that regulates retirement accounts, ING Australia needed to communicate with and educate members regarding their superannuation accounts. The goal was to increase the number of rollovers and contributions received by helping members grow their superannuation savings and capitalize on simpler superannuation account management opportunities.
ING Australia planned to communicate the relevant legislative changes to its customers, but knew that not all customers needed to be informed about all changes and that customers could be overwhelmed by the information. Salmat BusinessForce and its partners were invited to find a solution to the challenge.
Using its KODAK VERSAMARK VX5000 Printing System to print in full color with flexible formatting, Salmat BusinessForce designed a strategic program to deliver appropriate, targeted communications to each customer to maximize contributions to their accounts. Data that included customers’ ages, salary, and Tax File Numbers (TFNs) was gathered, cleaned, de-duped, and formatted to create printed material in full color that spoke directly to each customer’s specific situation. When TFNs were not on record, an additional page was added to the mail package to ask for that information.
“Salmat BusinessForce and its partners showed us how to turn an essential mail campaign into a formidable marketing tool. Being able to use essential mail to deliver targeted marketing messages has opened a new door for us,” noted Elizabeth Houteas, Sales Strategies and Support Manager, Employer Superannuation, ING Australia. “Our expectations were without a doubt exceeded and we will continue to use more intelligent marketing within essential mail to maximize member value.”
Salmat BusinessForce has leveraged KODAK Solutions to become one of the leading providers of integrated marketing campaigns and high quality digital printing in the world, and the success of the ING Australia project exhibits the potential of this technology to significantly increase recipient response rates. The efforts significantly increased the amount of money invested and earned by members participating in the program.
“Consumers today are bombarded with information, and capturing their attention is an ongoing challenge,” said Ronen Cohen, Vice President, Marketing, Inkjet Printing Solutions, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “The odds of cutting through the information overload and getting them to respond increase greatly by delivering relevant, targeted content, in full color. Our solutions make that possible, and Salmat BusinessForce is making the most of those opportunities.”
