High-speed edge trim conveying
Saturday 31. May 2008 - In response to customer wishes Venti Oelde developed a solution allowing edge trims to be removed at high speed - without shredding them, in the form of continuous strips.
The objective for Venti Oelde was to accelerate markedly the edge trim extraction of a paper making system in order to increase the productivity of the entire plant. Although the plant could have run much faster, it was limited to 2800 meters per minute due to the speed of the edge trim extraction system.
4000 meters per minute
In a development time lasting three months Venti Oelde succeeded in increasing the speed of the edge trim extraction system by 42 percent – and thus in clearly increasing the performance of the entire paper making plant. For it was specifically the edge trim extraction system that had been preventing a faster and more productive operation of the plant. The operation of the plant always has to run in line with the slowest components, which the edge trim extraction system in particular had been part of until that point. New possibilities now came on line with the newly developed high-speed edge trim extraction system.
In perfect interaction
A prerequisite necessary for the extreme conveying speed is the smart design of all components involved, from the collecting method, through the fan system right up to the separation technology. The paper strips cannot be removed at high speed unless these components have been finely tuned. Depending on composition and weight of the material to be transported, the settings need to be adjusted to allow the maximum speed achieved to be varied.
Venti Oelde designs plants for the high-speed exhaust of edge trim to meet customer requirements and achieves a much increased productivity as a result.
