New Executives Join Z Corporation to Accelerate Rapid Company Growth in 3D Printing
Friday 30. May 2008 - Ed DeArias and Olimpio DeMarco are responsible for driving sales and broadening adoption of 3D printing and scanning
Z Corporation, maker of the world’s fastest and only multicolor 3D printers, today announced the addition of two new senior executives to build on the company’s momentum in the 3D printing and scanning markets.
Technology sales veteran Ed DeArias, most recently of Nokia, has joined Z Corporation as Vice President of Global Sales, responsible for driving all sales programs and revenue for the company, and Olimpio DeMarco, most recently of Autodesk Inc., joined as Director of Business Development, responsible for expanding business in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) and education markets.
These moves are just the latest milestones in a period of rapid growth for Z Corporation, whose 3D printers are steadily expanding their leadership in speed, color capability, affordability, quality, ease of use and office compatibility. Z Corporation 3D printers mirror the development and adoption curve that document printers experienced in the 1980s.
The company has hired 22 employees since January, bringing employee count to 161. “We warmly welcome Ed, Olimpio and our other new professionals to what we believe is the right company in the right industry at the right time,” said John M. Kawola, Chief Executive Officer. “Our 3D printing technology is becoming a standard best practice in product development organizations and is heating up in architecture, GIS, entertainment, arts and medicine. A key success factor for us is having the right people, and these new colleagues are shining examples who will help us drive more expansion going forward.”
DeArias brings a wealth of experience expanding sales in high-growth markets as well as leadership ability in both large and small technology companies, including IBM, Sitara Networks, Lightbridge and Nokia. He has successfully built and managed channels and implemented sales programs around the world. He was most recently Vice President, Americas, for Nokia’s enterprise solutions group, where he grew revenues by 72 percent over a two-year span. Z Corporation looks to DeArias to build on its record of success. DeArias reports to Kawola.
DeMarco comes to Z Corporation after three years at Autodesk where he recruited new channel partners and helped develop a successful new business for Revit Structure 3D software in the AEC division. He has held a variety of leadership positions in product management/marketing and business development in the computer software and systems industry, including Computervision, PTC, MSC Software, and SensAble Technologies. DeMarco reports to Vice President of Business Development Scott Harmon.
