Compact drying technology for printing presses

Wednesday 28. May 2008 - Venti Oelde offers the printing industry extremely compact and highly efficient complete systems for the effective drying of printed and coated materials. They can be integrated into new and existing printing presses without any problem.

Numerous materials are printed or coated for almost all industries using printing technology. An increasing number of new material combinations, coatings and technologies are being used. And the appropriate drying solutions are also sought in each case.

Solutions exactly in line with requirement
Venti Oelde provides individually tailored complete solutions to meet the different demands. Characteristics such as plant size, desired performance, materials and coatings used are taken into account. The drying modules for standard or special applications are planned together with the manufacturers of the printing presses. Venti Oelde’s specialisation is based on high-performance convection dryers for flexographic and gravure printing presses.

The complete equipment in one module
Venti Oelde’s particular expertise lies in the fact that it is able to house the complete drying equipment in a single compact module and to supply it “ready to use”. All the components are fitted to a basic frame: including among other things the complete blower equipment with fans, heating medium, control flaps and the ducts for circulating air, supply air and exhaust air. The automatic monitoring, measuring and control equipment is also already installed.

The complete module is immediately ready for use. It only needs to be connected with the plug and play procedure. The time and cost intensive matching of individual components from a range of different manufacturers does not apply – not to the installation and also not to warranty matters.

Small dimensions, low-noise design
With its precise fitting drying modules, Venti Oelde achieves a balance between the most compact dimensions possible and noise insulation in accordance with the technical instruction on noise (TA Lärm). Air flow, which depends on the design of the machine, and vibration absorption are especially important for low-noise running.

The following applies as a rule: the more compact the plant, the shorter the dwell time in the drying area usually. This means that the drying temperature and the flow of blast air must be increased. Of course, the increased air throughput results in an increase in noise. The intelligent design of the Venti equipment leaves adequate space for effective absorption of the vibrations of the fans and allows the entire plant to be “wrapped” in its own sound insulation. As a result, Venti Oelde’s plants are extremely low-noise and yet have compact dimensions.

In addition, Venti Oelde can subject complete printing presses to a noise measurement to identify the noise problems and noise sources.

Operational reliability and low energy consumption
Venti Oelde’s control units ensure reliable operation: They check and regulate automatically the incoming and outgoing air flow, the necessary operating pressure, the ideal temperature and also the current solvent concentration in order to safely prevent a risk of explosion.

In addition, it is usually energy saving solutions that are wanted. This wish is satisfied by Venti Oelde with a heat recovery system integrated into the drying equipment, resulting in about 75 percent of the heat energy of the exhaust air being recovered.

Existing printing presses can be retro-fitted with Venti Oelde’s modular plug and play equipment to optimise performance and energy consumption.
