Autobond to launch laminator for magnet applications at Drupa
Monday 26. May 2008 - Autobond will launch its new Mini 76 TPM perfecting laminator, and showcase a range of laminating kit, at this year's Drupa.
The Mini 76 TPM is being targeted towards the digital print market. It allows users to apply magnetic film on one side of the print and normal film to the other.
The machine can be used for the production of magnetic products such as business cards, fridge magnets, and ‘L’ plates for vehicles.
It can handle sheet sizes from A4 to B1 portrait, run at speeds up to 45 meters per minute, and laminate stock weights ranging from 90 gsm to 650 gsm.
An optional CC 76 flying knife cross cutter can also be fitted to this machine.
Autobond is shipping its first Mini 76 TPM to REALflyer Inc, a digital printer in Los Angeles.
The manufacturer is also exhibiting its Mini 105 TPHS thermal thin film laminator with Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 feed-head and stacker.
The Mini 105 TPHS can handle a sheet size of A4 to B1 landscape. The laminator can output at a maximum speed of 60 m/min at weights ranging from 90 gsm to 650 gsm.
Autobond MD John Gilmore said, “Our research and development team has carried out a significant amount of work during the last year to extend the functionality of our sheet-fed laminators to encompass other processes such as UV coating, encapsulation, floor graphics, and magnet lamination.”
