IMPIKA PUSHES THE LIMITS OF INKJET PRINTING AT DRUPA 2008

Friday 23. May 2008 - Impika exposes its renewed product range with a unique offer of inkjet color printing solutions

Impika, a French company based in the south of France, specialised in industrial inkjet printing, and well known for its innovations, has chosen Drupa for showcasing the last generation of its products. They are matching with its renewed visual identity illustrating the noticeable company’s evolution since its creation in 2003.

Four years ago, Impika already focused attention at Drupa with its innovating printing engines exposed on one of its partner’s booth. Today, Impika is a main leader and exposes, on its own booth, its unique know how with its new product lines:

– Impika Solutions line with two ranges of systems, iPrint 150 and iPress 600 with outstanding performances in terms of speed and/or printing quality depending on the addressed markets,

– Impika Engines line with several ranges of products according to the printing resolution (iEngine 300 and iEngine 900) ready to be integrated on existing or new equipments.

The iPrint 150 range proposes high speed variable data printing solutions. It prints from monochrome to two or three colors with a resolution of 600 dpi on a printing width of 474mm. The paper rolls run with high precision at a speed of 150m/mn for transactional and transpromotional markets and also for book printing applications. The iPrint 150 range has a serie of options (turnbar,…) and a last generation of IPDS controller, named iPrint Controler, for the management of variable data.

The iPress 600 range offers high quality color printing solutions with 4 to 6 colors. It prints with a resolution of 600 dpi on a printing width of 474 mm. The adhesive paper and film rolls run with high precision at a speed of 75m/mn for label and flexible packaging applications. The iPress 600 range has a large serie of options and finishing modules (varnishing, die cutting, slitting and rewinding…) adapted for customers requiring turnkey solutions. The offer also includes the last generation workflow software, iPress Flow.
Both new generations of printing solutions integrate Panasonic Drop On Demand piezo electric printheads. They print with water-based inks (dye or pigment) contributing to the cost effectiveness and the ecologic aspects of the product.

“Our iPrint and iPress printing solutions are different with their unique modularity, aesthetic and ergonomics refering to the company’s new baseline “Your Inkjet Solutions”. They combine their outstanding performances in terms of color, quality, speed and options according to the different markets requirements. This unique flexibility will be shown on Impika’s stand with an example of a last generation printing solution with 6 colors specially designed for the Drupa show and able to demonstrate applications for various markets.” explains Paul Morgavi, CEO of Impika.

Impika exhibits also on its booth the last generation of its full color digital printing engine, the iEngine 900.

This printing engine, based on Drop On Demand piezo electric inkjet technology, integrates Xaar printheads using UV inks. It prints in single pass on a large variety of substrates such as plastic, glass, metal, wood and others…

The performances of the iEngine 900 in terms of printing quality with a visual resolution of 900 dpi, provides today results equivalent to what traditional printing technologies used to offer. All the technical features of the iEngine 900 are very well adapted for applications requiring high quality, flexibility and personalization for the markets of identity, security printing and industrial printing.

The Impika team is waiting for you on booth B24-1 in Hall 10 for a guided tour in its new digital printing world.
