HP names Jakob Bovin Sales Manager for Nordics, Baltics, Switzerland and Austria
Tuesday 20. May 2008 - Hewlett-Packard has appointed Jakob Bovin HP Indigo Commercial Sales Manager, Nordics, Baltics, Switzerland and Austria. Tasked to develop business in the print service provider (PSP) market in these countries, Mr. Bovin will work alongside Fred Erkelens,HP Indigo Commercial Printing Sales Manager Benelux and Mr. Rob Engelman,HP Indigo Industrial Printing Sales Manager GWE and UK for label & packaging.
Since July 2004 Bovin has served as EMEA Photo Business Manager, HP Indigo Digital Press Division in Geneva, Switzerland. In this role, he has driven HP’s growth in new product segments such as photo albums, calendars and greeting cards. HP Indigo commands an estimated 75 percent market share in this segment today. He was named among the HP Imaging & Printing Group EMEA top achievers in 2007.
Bovin, 36, has a proven track record at HP, where he started out as a sales and marketing analyst at HP Europe Customer Services & Support, Geneva, Switzerland, in 1998. He earlier gained experience as Senior Account Manager – Competitive Sales with HP Personal Systems Group, Business Development Manager with HP Software Engineering Services in New York, and E-Business Consultant with HP Consulting.
“After four years focused on the photo-specialty segment of the HP Indigo business, I am looking forward to the challenge of developing our commercial print presence across a fascinating group of countries where we have identified fantastic growth potential,” said Bovin. HP now plans to accelerate investment in the PSP segment within the Nordic and Baltic regions, and in Switzerland and Austria.
Bovin has a degree in Economics from Colorado College in the US. He was born in Sweden and now lives in Switzerland. A keen photographer and sportsman, Mr. Bovin commented, “I try to deliver the same passion in work as I seek in life. That is why I am thrilled about this new challenge and pursing it to the fullest.”
